If you have a home based business and you are outgrowing your home as your office, consider using a storage unit as your office instead. It might sound weird, but having a storage unit serve as your office is not as crazy as it may seem.

All you have to do is get a storage unit that is big enough to fit in a desk, a chair, a lamp, and a couple of filing cabinets and you are ready to get set up. This of course is providing that the storage unit has electricity and that you get permission from the storage unit facility to use some of that electricity.

Now, you might be thinking, “What about getting access to the internet?” Well, that problem is easily solved with a laptop and a network card. If you have this, you can take your business anywhere you want to, including to your storage unit. You may even find that the storage unit facility you rent from has WiFi available for you to ‘sniff’ off of.

This type of storage unit office set up is ideal if you sell items online and don’t really have to meet face to face with people. Get a unit that is big enough and you can even store all the items you sell in the same space. At the very least, you can rent another storage unit, probably right next to the first one, to store your entire inventory. This will also give you an address to have items delivered to, provided you are there at the time of delivery.

You don’t have to turn your home into a walking nightmare because of your home based business. With a little imagination and an agreeable storage unit facility, you too can turn a normal self storage unit into a money making make-shift office.
